Bush Dinners

A bush dinner is something everyone should experience at least once and many visitors opt to "eat out" Limpopo-Lipadi style during their stay with us! There is something extremely special about a dining room in the wilderness and whilst you are free to picnic across the reserve, either in one of our special spots or just on the bonnet of the landcruiser somewhere in the bush, it is a real treat to have someone prepare a delicious dinner served up at a banqueting table!

Bush dinners make a wonderful add-on to an afternoon game drive and you will start out from River Camp as usual. Your ranger will keep in touch with the team preparing the food to ensure you arrive with perfect timing at our riverside site. Harry's Camp makes a beautiful spot for dinner with its panoramic views across the water. The wine will already be chilled and the table laid out on arrival so you can take a seat and watch the last of the day slip away to give way to the sounds of the night.

Soon food will be served and you'll tuck in to your meal under the light of paraffin lanterns and accompanied by the chorus of frogs in the reeds and perhaps even hyenas or jackals calling to each other nearby. Afterwards you may choose to take drinks around the fire, then when you are ready your ranger will be on hand to drive you back the short distance to camp.

Bush dinners are a fabulous way to celebrate a special occasion, or just enjoy a treat on your trip with us.
