Weather
Most people's vision of the weather in Africa is of a scorching sun beating down on dusty plains and whilst that occurs in places the reality is a little more varied. Our weather varies with the changing seasons and the brief guide below gives you a feel for what to expect (and therefore the sorts of clothing and equipment you may need). More detailed weather information is available at a number of sites, although TuTiempo seems to have the most detailed records for Selebi-Phikwe, the nearest large town, approximately 90km to the north-west of the reserve.
Photography
There is a huge amount of information on the internet and in books about photography and especially taking pictures on safari. The old adage of a picture tells a story of a thousand words is often true and we know that you will want to capture some great images to help preserve memories of your trip and to share with friends and family back at home. This article gives a few basic tips and recommendations for what to bring to help this.
What to bring
Whilst not intended as a complete guide to everything you need to pack for a safari trip to the reserve what follows below are some tips that will hopefully prove useful.
Health Information
When travelling to countries with different health risks and healthcare facilities than you may be used to at home it is wise to familiarise yourself with the differences and take advice on the implications. This following is not intended to be a medically authoritative review for travel to Botswana but is provided as advisory information for our potential guests.
Weather Statistics
At Limpopo-Lipadi we have a mini weather station and collate data on a monthly basis, which is summarised in the table below. Temperature figures relate (in order) to the minimum, mean daily minimum, mean daily maximum, and maximum.
