Lodge Services

In addition to standard and special safari activities detailed elsewhere on the site there are a number of other options and services available at the lodges. These include:

Cooks and Cleaning

Your housekeeper will introduce themselves at the beginning of your stay and visit the unit twice daily throughout. This normally occurs during the morning game drive and mid-afternoon. At these times they will tidy around, sweep and mop the floors, make the beds, do any washing up and empty the bins. You, of course, can leave out the do not disturb signs if you prefer to have a lie-in or afternoon nap!

If you have opted to self-cater but would like a break the reserve can provide you with a cook to prepare meals if you wish (please see current charges). They are able to make a wide range of recipes but if you have something specific in mind please do leave instructions.

Laundry and Linen

The housekeepers will change bed linen and towels every fourth day during your stay, although if something needs changing sooner please just ask. A laundry service is available as an extra - just use the bag in your bathroom and leave it out for the housekeeper. It will be returned dried and ironed within 48 hours (normally the same day if left before your morning drive).

Firewood and Charcoal

Bags of firewood or charcoal are available on request from the fire man or via the housekeepers. You can use the noticeboard in your unit to ask for a fire to be set inside or outside if you are heading out on an activity.

Shopping

The reserve visits the local town each week and is able to purchase small additional shopping supplies to request (subject to a mileage charge split between those making a purchase). Please discuss any requirements you have with the Lodge Manager. We can also obtain your main grocery shopping before you arrive on the reserve in a similar manner - again it is best to discuss your requirements with the Lodge Manager.

Internet

Limited internet access is available in the Reserve Office adjacent to River Camp on our WiFi network, however this will be much slower than the speeds you are used to at home and is not suitable for sending large files. It is however quite possible to receive standard emails and update social networks during the day. The network password is available at the office.
