Description: Lodge 2 is found towards the southern end of River Camp. It overlooks a straight stretch of river with a fair current when the river is flowing. Thick woodland surrounds the lodge and the banks opposite and troupes of vervet monkeys cascade through the branches overhead. The boma is nicely shaded from the hot summer sun and for those that like to bask in the heat the patio outside the kitchen forms a sun-trap sheltered from the breeze and overlooks an open area where drongoes and flycatchers flit about. A monitor lizard sometimes patrols the leaf litter in front of the lodge and both woodland and pied kingfishers make use of a dead tree to perch on at the water's edge.
