Meet our shareholders
Limpopo-Lipadi is not just about visiting the reserve, it is about joining our international community of shareholders and sharing decision making, experiences and more. Many shareholders have become good friends and stay in touch regularly or go out together onto the reserve to see what each game drive brings. A few of our shareholders introduce themselves below.

I have had a love for wild open spaces for as long as I can remember, probably stemming from the very early years of my life in Zimbabwe. I had always had a dream of owning my own game reserve at some point in the future and I spent countless hours browsing through property web pages online from my office in London looking for that perfect fit. Unfortunately as I got older and a little wiser I began to realise the complications of owning my own piece of land - I would not be able to purchase something big enough to be a self-sustaining biosphere, the running and maintenance costs would be prohibitive and I would have no control of what my neighbours were doing and the impact that may have on the aesthetics of the reserve I had purchased.
I then started looking at various options of time share and other similar programs being run in South Africa and I came close on a number of occasions to purchasing something, but every venture I looked at had left with me too many concerns (reserve too small, too many people and too much development, developer had too much freedom to make changes in the future that may have a negative impact, I had no say in anything to do with the running of the reserve, I had no flexibility on when I could visit, there was risk of land claims on some or all of the land etc. etc.). I was then browsing on the internet one day and simply stumbled onto the Limpopo-Lipadi website.
Luckily my wife (Kathleen) and I have travelled to Botswana before so we already knew just how beautiful, safe and financially secure the country was. With a little arm twisting I persuaded Kathleen to take a trip with me to Lipadi to meet the team and assess the reserve prior to making any decision. When we arrived the reserve was still in it's infancy, there was no game fencing and we stayed in a tent at Lephale lodge. Despite that we fell in love with the place and could clearly see the potential for an incredible future and lasting legacy that our children could one day enjoy. Kathleen had been very hesitant prior to visiting the reserve and meeting the team but I think after the trip she was more enthused about the venture than I was!
Since joining Limpopo-Lipadi I have seen some great progress (fencing installed, River Camp completed, wild dogs released) and I hope to be able to play a part and enjoy many more things to come.

Having been bitten by the Africa bug on my first trip there in 1998 and having a passion for wildlife experiences my girlfriend and I were wondering one night why there weren't holiday homes for people that enjoyed the kinds of things we did. Some time after I Googled the subject and found that actually there were! Lots of virtual exploring later I'd found Limpopo-Lipadi and been inspired by the idea and potential to really be involved in the project. Now a few years on we're married and get out to Botswana as often as we can to enjoy being part of our reserve and experiencing what it has to offer.

Botswana contains some of the last remaining truly wild areas left in the world and it is a privilege to be able access these, and to be able to play a role in retaining them. Limpopo-Lipadi is a means whereby one can enjoy wild Africa while participating in conservation actvities and having a GREAT time!

I first vited South Africa on business in 1993. My initial reaction to a business trip to South Africa was "why me, I have no interest in visiting that part of the world". After a day in South Africa I called me wife Kathryn and told her "this place is wonderful and you must come back on holiday with me" which we did the following year and have done so at least annually for the next 15 years. During these many trips to Africa we ventured further from South Africa and took in the joys of Namibia, Zambia, Swaziland, Kenya, Mozambique, and then finally Botswana.
We fell in love with the "bush" as so many people who have visited Africa do, the beautiful riverine forests with their thousand year old trees, the plains with their wealth of animals, the star filled night skies, the crisp morning game drives, the diverse bird life and so much more. We were hooked and spent the next few years looking for ways to spend more time in Africa but in our place and at our pace and with people who share our interests. After about five years of seaching we found Limpopo-Lipadi, made the long vist friom Seattle to see if it was what we expected. It was more than we expected and we purchased our shares in what has become an important part of our life. The beauty of Lipopo-Lipadi, the new friends we have made, and the ability to be invovled in the activities and development of the Reserve have exceeded our expectations. We look forward to many more years of enjoyment in our on going years of partnership with Limpopo-Lipadi.

I had learned to love the African bush during the 1980's while living in Johannesburg as a young man. Many years ago I had looked at purchasing a share in another Tuli Block private reserve, and when I saw Limpopo-Lipadi it was an easy decision for me. For me it is a dream, my contribution to the world's environmental challenges, and an investment. It is and remains a unique opportunity to become involved in Africa's natural beauty in a way that meets all my hopes and needs.

Travelled the world for a lifetime but my native Southern Africa has, by far more, always given me the most in terms of peace, energy and beauty in all its expressions. Limpopo-Lipadi immediately appeared to be what I had been dreaming for my whole life. On top, I've also found myself "mingled" to a community of really special people. Those that make you feel you're not the only dreamer in this crazy world.

Limpopo-Lipadi is a beautiful piece of land, it offers great wildlife and a variety of vegetation. It's vast and pristine. But what really makes the difference is the fact that Limpopo-Lipadi gives you the opportunity to get involved in the project, to enjoy and to experience the African bush in so many different ways and to become a part of the reserve.
Jacques in South Africa
For the last three generations my family has been involved in game reserves in the Timbavati, Klaserie (near Kruger) and the Waterberg. Driven by our passion for the bush which we would like to pass on to our children and their children, we have been searching for a game reserve investment in southern Africa which would survive political, social and economic tensions and focus on sustainable wildlife conservation. A reserve without any management / maintenance hassles as we cannot stay there permanently to oversee it ourselves.
Botswana and specifically Limpopo-Lipadi pushed all the right buttons and so we bought into the project in 2006 amongst some of the first shareholders.

Liz and I met in Zambia and for the last decade have been looking for a property investment in Africa where we could actively contribute to the conservation of a significant chunk of wilderness, pass on our love of the bush to our children, and a place to safari that we could get to know intimately over the years and in every season. Limpopo-Lipadi is that place, and to share it with like minded investors makes the experience even better.
Walt and Thea in the USA
Thea and I have taken a number of wildlife veiwing trips to Africa over the years (in fact we were married on a safari near Kruger Park) and could never seem to get enough of the African bush experience. When we heard about Limpopo-Lipadi we realized this was a project with the potential to allow us to spend as much time as we wanted amongst the sights and sounds of Africa. Even as we are in the early stages of the development of the Limpopo-Lipadi plan, we find that our choice has been a good one, and we enjoy every day we spend there.

Africa is a magnificent continent and once visited she gets into your soul like no other. Limpopo-Lipadi is a tiny reflection of all that is good about this magnificent continent and I have tried to analyse the emotion which I experience as soon as I arrive in this wonderful reserve in Botswana. Is it the fantastic people, the magnificent landscape, wildlife, smells, dust or a combination of all these? I don't know but I am sure that I will be back again and again and again. So be warned, once experienced you will surely fall under her spell!
